Check trading posts, call the american canine council and ask for a breeder listing, and then call around to breeders. Breeders will often sell of puppies that they do not consider suitable for show at reduced prices. You can see if there is a collie resuce close to you. They have dogs that people left or did not want. Best type of dog, just wants a home.

call the animal shelters in your area and adopt rather than ';buy'; you will get a better pet for a better price
Well, you won't find a reputable breeder with this kind of price and anyone else (back yard breeder) will not be properly screening their dogs for genetic defects and health issues, which means you could get one that will end up costing you a ton in vet bills later down the line.





Best bet, for your price range, is to find a rescue group of this breed in your area or check on petfinder.com.
Go to akc.org. They have reputable breeders. You can e-mail someone %26amp; ask questions. Price, location, ect. That way you'll get a good quality dog for your money!
