I've been googling for weeks, looking in the papers, and haven't come across any that aren't thousands of dollars. I'm also looking for the dark coated golden retrievers. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :)Where can I find golden retriever puppies for sale in Washington State?
Unfortunately, you're not going to find a well-bred, healthy puppy in a newspaper or craigslist. You need to visit the breed club and contact breeders from there. http://www.grca.org/allabout/a_find5.htm鈥?/a>
What you're looking for, at the VERY least, is a breeder who shows/works their dogs and thus titles them, and furthermore has all of their dogs screened for genetic disease (you'll notice that by CERF, OFA or PennHip by the dog's show win photographs, most likely). Those dogs will set you back $1,000 or more, but that is the biggest expense you'll have, because you're buying a healthy dog that won't need knee surgery or cancer treatments in a few years.
Anyone else is just a backyard breeder or puppy mill, breeding dogs that may or may not resemble a golden retriever, breeding all dogs regardless of health or titles, etc. Those dogs are cheap at first but then the medical bills start coming. Never mind it breaks your heart to watch your friend become crippled due to a fatal, painful congenital disease.
As far as color, goldens ran the gamut between a creamy white and a dark copper; it really just depends upon genetics. A good breeder will be able to refer you to another breeder that has the look you're after if they don't have a puppy that suits you.
Best of luck to you, and I hope this is helpful!

Try Dog World or Dogs magazine. You are better off going through a reputable breeder than a backyard breeder. Reputable breeders screen their dogs for hip displasia and other genetic disorders or diseases. So that you come out with a healthy pup and adult dog.Not one that costs you thousands in vet bills.
go to petfinder.com and type in your zip code and select ';young'; or ';baby'; for age and then they will list some goldens, you can also click on the rescues/shelters they are from, there could be more
please do not buy from a petstore or a breeder that does not seem to care about the dogs
How about you look at a local Golden rescue? Your bound to find at least one. The paper is not a reputable place to buy pups, your more likely to get a sick pup that way.

You may need to expand the area you are searching in. I couldn't find any in WA, but there are many in CA on this page. Many offer shipping: http://www.pets4you.com/goldenretriever.鈥?/a>
dont cheap out on a dog. if you cant afford a quality dog, then rescue one from the pound.

Try puppyfind.com they will have picture and details about the puppy. You'll also be able to email the breeder any questions you may have and ask for pictures of the parents. You can also look in the surrounding states if you'd like to make the drive but they have a really good site for lookin at puppies. Just watch it for the bad ones. Good luck.
did you try your local shelter/pet store. you can also ask your vet or call one, they might help you. there might even be say a egroup that you can join.
