I keep seeing Petsmart has puppies for sale, the petsmarts in our area only do dog rescues?

Is it petsmart or is it just easier to say petsmart when you say a dog store? Just curious... I know up north where I used to live everyplace used to be Petland even if it had a different name...I keep seeing Petsmart has puppies for sale, the petsmarts in our area only do dog rescues?
You aren't imagining things. There are a few users on this site who insist that Petsmart sells puppies. They do not, but these users just don't seem to get it when they are corrected. You will likely see it again!I keep seeing Petsmart has puppies for sale, the petsmarts in our area only do dog rescues?
Petsmart does not sell dogs nor will they ever, sometimes customers are confused when we have ';adoption'; days in which participating store have kennels permanently set up within the store,,,they are displayed in the store but are 100% cared for by the residing shelter staff and adopted through the shelters and not by petsmart,,,Petsmart does do promotional sales WITH the adoption of an animal on supplies
the petcos and petsmarts in my area are all owned by the same corporation, and they have adoption drives for rescues only.

(i keep those sites in my fav places so when someone on here asks where to buy a puppy i list them:)
Petsmart does NOT sell pups....They do allow rescue/shelters come into their stores with dogs that are up for adoption.
Petsmart does not sell dogs. They do have rescue puppies up for adoption.
http://stoppuppymills.org I would MUCH rather rescue a puppy than purchase one.
Petsmart only has adoptions.
One of petsmart's policies is that they do not sell dogs or cats. They offer adoption space.

Plenty of people get confused about this and think they are buying a dog from petsmart. They don't understand that it's an independent rescue organization that's allowed to have a booth in petsmart.

And yes, some people just use ';petsmart'; for any store.
Petsmart lets rescue groups and shelters use their stores adopt out dogs and cats. Because there is a fee for the pets, many people probably think they are 'buying' the pet. I hear this in the SPCA where I volunteer all the time. People refer to the dogs as being 'for sale' and that they are going to 'buy' one.
No petsmart that I know ';sells'; puppies. I know that every Saturday at my Petsmart they do an Adoption Day for Dogs and cats too I think.
Petsmart does not sell puppies (thank goodness) but they do have adoption events in partnership with local shelters and rescue groups.
Petsmart doesn't sell puppies, but they do rescue them, then adopt them out that's where I got my puppy and he is the best dog I have ever owned.
