However, be very careful when it comes to breeders. some are just puppy mills, and cannot guarantee the health of your pup, as the only thing they are concerned with is the almighty dollar. Also, try pet store, who sometimes have advertisements o their bulletin boards, or the classified of your local newspapers. Another option is to check with the American Kennel Club, who keeps a registry of all certified breeders. You can go online and click on their website.
please make sure to do a research check on the breed, to make sure you don't have any surprises when you purchase one, like behavior, health, genetic or other predispositions. especially if this is your first dachsund. Good luck!!

Go to petfinder.com and search for dachshunds under breed and baby under age. Gender shouldn't be a problem, in my opinion. Some breed rescue groups ship the puppies through airlines; others require that you go there yourself to pick up the pup. You might be lucky and find a rescue group in Ohio!!
