Why not try adoption? Go to www.petfinder.com and type in the breed of dog you're interested in and your zip code. If you're just looking to see what's out there, you can just enter your zip code and see a very wide range of animals in need of a good, loving home.
You can also go to www.craigslist.com, as often times people list their adoptable animals there.Are there any puppies for sale in Houston.?
Why buy a puppy???? Go to the SPCA, Citizens for Animal Protection ( CAP), or PetsMart... there are hundreds of terrific dogs and kittens wanting a home more than anything !!! You'll have a hard time making up your mind .Are there any puppies for sale in Houston.?

Houston TX?? That is one of the biggest locations of rescues, they even have pure bred rescues!!Check around- but almost every two out of 4 rescues are there!I hope this helps- what breed are you looking for?? Good luck-
Have you checked your local Humane Control office? Humane Shelters rescue all sorts of dogs... some are females and actually give birth in the shelter. Please give the Shelter a good check and look into the eyes of dogs that will most likely be put to sleep. Janet
