I am trying to find a reasonably priced chihuahua puppy for my daughter in Olympia for a Christmas present. I have looked online but find it overwhelming trying to find something fast and near them,as I dont know the area. I live in Maryland and will be paying for the puppy. Anyone out there with pups for sale or know of anyone with them? I am willing to pay up to $300.00. The dog will be a pet,she isnt interested in breeding. She is new to the area and misses her dog back home. Any information would be so appreciated. Thank You.Any chihuahua puppies for sale in Olympia,Seattle,WA area for $300 or under in time for Christmas?
First, in direct response to the other answers, the newspaper and craigslist are the WORST places to get a pet, other than a pet store. These are generally backyard breeders who breed crappy quality dogs simply for money.
The thing is, no reputable or responsible breeder is
A. Going to have a chi for under $300
B. Going to sell it to a random person
C. Going to sell it as a surprise gift
Anyone who *would* do any of the above should be run away from.
A responsible, ethical, moral breeder meets the prospective owner and interviews them extensively. Even if you were able to find a pet quality dog from a good breeder at that price, most good breeders WILL NOT breed a dog to whelp near the holidays. So, this leaves one with unethical sources who should NOT be bought from.
Instead, I recommend finding a reputable breeder with help from the chi club of america and getting your daughter a gift certificate good for one puppy from the next litter. Then, the breeder can ensure that your daughter has a great home, that she is well educated on the breed, and that she gets a healthy pup that matches her needs.Any chihuahua puppies for sale in Olympia,Seattle,WA area for $300 or under in time for Christmas?
Don't look here - You're liable to get scammed.
Try looking at Craigslist.org.
I found my three there for a great deal!!
if your area or surrounding area has a thrifty nickel then check it out you will really be surprised. that is how people find most of thier pet. and they are really big on chihuahuas right now in my area. That is in Texas right now. good luck.
Sometimes the local pet shelter for adoptees have prure breds. but probaly with no papers.

Sorry if this isn't much of a help, but just look in the ads in your newspaper for chihuahua puppies. That is how I got mine, lol.
